Fateh Care Charity
Fateh Care Charity (a registered Canadian Charity number 79258 5200 RR 0001) was founded in Victoria, British Columbia. It is a Canada-based ‘Care Start-up’ currently providing support in and around Victoria B.C. We currently assist the elderly, specially-abled, low-income families, older adults and seniors, LGBTQ2SIA+, those experiencing homelessness as well as to people who are looking for a helping hand in these tough times and don’t know where to go or whom to ask.
The organization was founded by community visionaries Harjas Singh Popli and Dr. Navneet Kaur Popli in 2021 (within 1 year of immigrating to Canada in 2020), the idea to work for social causes came up based on their experiences after getting struck in the mayhem caused by CoViD-19 pandemic.
At the time when everything was at a standstill, businesses were struggling to survive, people won’t talk to each other, even if they met on the roadside they would walk away from great distance. It was difficult to know health and whereabouts of family members, no one to talk to, seniors couldn’t go anywhere because of the fear of virus and there was death all around, we were in Canada and our families in India were struggling to survive this pandemic.
We were all helpless because there was a complete lockdown and we couldn’t do much to help. We then decided to help where we can, thinking that there will be someone in the world who will help our loved ones in other part of the world. We believe in karma and feel “What goes around comes around”.

Mobile Food Bank
One of its kinds in Canada, the free mobile food bank is available to all those who are struggling for food and also do not have transport to go out and buy.
Experience sharing with new immigrants
Being new immigrants ourselves, we empathize and completely understand the challenges a person/family goes through. We therefore guide them the practical ways to settle in Canada.
Our Team
Mr. Harjas Singh Popli
Founder & Executive Director
Harjas Singh Popli is the founding Director of Fateh Care Charity. Post completing his engineering, Mr. Popli did MBA and later completed Post Graduate Certification in HR Management from XLRI, India.
He also holds a CPHR designation in Canada and holds a Labour Relations certificate from BCIT. He is a seasoned HR professional with over 2 decades of rich experience understanding people, their concerns/requirements, and providing result-oriented solutions.
Dr. Navneet Kaur Popli
Board Member & Chair
Dr. Navneet Kaur Popli is the co-founder of Fateh Care Charity. Dr. Popli is an Assistant Teaching Professor at the University of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. She has an overall teaching experience of over 2 decades in the IT field.
She has many research papers to her credit and has been an active speaker at international conferences.
Ashutosh Sharma
Board Member & Co-Chair
Ashutosh supports young tech-based entrepreneurs working in the ocean space in Canada. Ashutosh holds a Ph.D. in structural engineering and possesses more than 10 years of experience working in the industry, Academia, and research organizations. From a young age, Ashutosh has engaged in different types of social work owing to his strong belief and commitment to human service. Ashutosh actively volunteered for the PMI-Vancouver Island chapter for more than 2 years as a Volunteer director. Ashutosh believes in the idea of a better world and strives to contribute towards creating one.
Mark McInnes
Board Member & Secretary
Mark is a public servant who brings deep experience with community involvement, social advocacy and bureaucratic paperwork. He most recently has got into hydroponics and light farming and shares Fateh Care’s values for community expressed as strangers supporting strangers.
Mark is looking forward to his tenure on the Board of Fateh Care and deeply supports the mission of Fateh Care to help those in need when they need it.
Amanpreet Singh
Director-at-large
Amanpreet is an accomplished community volunteer. He has years of experience as a business owner and has worked in hospitality & retail sectors. His community & business experience helps us for day to day operations & financial wellbeing of Fateh Care.
Dave (Sukhdave) Hayer
Board Member & Treasurer
A retired professional manager and business owner who brings many years of experience in the fields of corporate services and operational areas garnered in the public sector and the private sector.
He also has extensive knowledge of proprietary systems and in the designing and implementing business processes. Over his career he has served on various BoDs in the private sector and on Strata Councils and now bring these experiences to Fateh Care to assist in the charity in meetings its goals.
Elia Nicholson-Nave
Advisor
Elia Nicholson-Nave has worked for over 30 years in the non-profit sector as an Executive Director. with a large non-profit organization.
She brings her expertise in fundraising, grant writing, policy development and volunteer/staff management to the team.
